he videogame industry is bigger than
Hollywood, and getting bigger. From large box platforms like PlayStation, Xbox and PCs to the World Wide Web and hand-held
portable devices, videogames are quickly becoming the ubiquitous cinema of the 21st Century. And with the growing demand
for more engaging, narrative storylines and richly drawn characters, the demand for quality game writers is also growing.
In this track, award-winning videogame writer Aaron Conners will unravel the mysteries of developing and scripting
videogames. From role playing games (RPGs) to arcade shoot-em-ups to massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs),
participants will be immersed in all things game design, including how to successfully drive narrative by exploiting the wide
array of player challenges, heads up displays (HUDs), and other elements inherent to interactive storytelling.
Saturday night's final session will be an opportunity to brainstorm strategies for developing and selling enrolled participants
own game ideas.
Please note that this track requires a minimum number of participants and will be removed from the schedule if not met
