As our spring summit in Sunriver fast approaches, a big shout out to “Into the Deep: Mining Substance and Shaping Narrative” track conductor Judy Reeves. Her latest book, Wild Women, Wild Voices, is out from New World Library, April 14. Judy, of course, is a longtime, beloved SCWC workshop leader, renowned for her A Writer’s Book of Days: A Spirited Companion and Lively Muse for the Writing Life, which has inspired so many emerging writers with its two editions. Regardless where you’re at in your writing career, do yourself a favor and pick up that book. Even share it with other writers in your life.
For those unfamiliar with Oregon’s high plateau region what’s vital to know, if you’re coming in from farther away, is that there is a nearby airport that you can fly direct to. The Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM) is some 40 minutes away from Sunriver, serviced by Alaska Air, American, Delta Airlines and United/United Unlimited Express carriers. Plus, the Sunriver Resort provides shuttle service to and from the airport.
The Summit is shaping up to be all we want it to be for writers who are serious about their craft and the business of writing professionally. Advance registration is required. We look forward to seeing you there. Now here’s the trailer we did for the most recent edition of Judy’s A Writer’s Book of Days…
