Author, non-fiction
Lois Joy Hofmann is a successful, serial entrepreneur who established several successful companies over her 35-year business career. After retiring as CEO from a publicly held San Diego biomedical company, Lois swore she’d never start another. She and her husband escaped the corporate world to embark on an 8-year, 62-country sailing circumnavigation. Then she realized she wanted to write and to share their adventure. Ultimately she founded an 8th company, PIP Productions, to publish her books. Lois Joy is now the author of Maiden Voyage and Sailing the South Pacific, the first two books in a nautical trilogy called “In Search of Adventure and Moments of Bliss.” Both lavishly produced books won first place in the travel category of San Diego Book Awards. Her stories have appeared in numerous sailing and travel magazines. She speaks about risk taking and “casting off those dock lines” at bookstores; libraries; and yacht, rotary and optimist clubs.
