Babette Sparr grew up with publishing in Europe where she received her MA in German and English Literature as well as Cultural Anthroplogy. She has worked at Peter & Paul Fritz Agency in Zurich, Circulo de Lectores in Barcelona and Simon & Schuster in New York. After moving to Los Angeles she freelanced for Phoenix Pictures, reading and evaluating screenplays and books for development into film before starting her own literary agency, representing fiction and non-fiction titles. In fiction she is especially drawn to literary fiction, upmarket women’s fiction, anything that has to do with the immigrant experience, cross-cultural and diaspora literature. In non-fiction she is looking for: science, political science, history, and current affairs.
